Pius Ogbewe

Pius O. Ogbewe is from a village in Benin City, Nigeria, West Africa, where he attended a religious secondary school. He made a personal commitment to serve God at the age of 18 after attending an after-school bible study and an outreach event at a Christian church in Benin City, Nigeria.

He was very active in religious outreach and educational programs in his neighborhood church. One of his responsibilities was to translate the Bible into his native language. The church also started a nursery school, where, upon completion of secondary school, Pius was hired to work as an administrative secretary and treasurer. One of his responsibilities was to coordinate visits from local and foreign guests.

Pius immigrated to the USA in the summer of 1985 and took a position in a local food market. He has maintained this position since. After becoming an active Rockville Assembly of God church member, Pius met his wife, Monique. They married in the spring of 1996 and were blessed with two sons.

Pius maintains active leadership roles at Rockville Assembly of God, including overseeing the prayer and visitation ministries and assisting with the senior luncheon. Prior to serving with Parallel Hope, he served on the board of the Rockville Assembly of God.
